My freshmen and sophomore year, I volunteered with the Study Abroad office at FIU as a PAW Buddy. This opportunity pushed me out of my comfort zone and heightened my cross-cultural communication skills. I met many different people from different places around the world. I was an ambassador for the office and welcomed international students to the campus. Each semester I was paired with a different student to welcome and help them get acclimated to Miami. I also helped plan cultural events for the students. My favorite event was a pizza pool party!
